FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What RKR Training Programs Are Available?

What Are The RKR Student Demographics?

They range from single, 18-year-olds, to families with multiple children, to retired pastors, looking to use their wealth of ministry experience in the mission field.

RKR typically has three types of students:

  1. Those participating in an intense training seminar, to get quickly equipped with tools they can use immediately to reach their world.

  2. Those participating in a 2-month missions internship program. These are often college students who will come to Barcelona for a summer between semesters.

  3. Those who are being prepared to plant a new church or aid the growth of an established work. These students commit to 3 to 12 months of AIM service. In some cases, the student will spend more than 12 months in Barcelona (with an AIM extension) as they prepare for full-time missions. Student preparation (language acquisition, cultural considerations, basic team-building and spiritual warfare) would begin virtually before they come to the field.

Do you have the zeal and potential to reach the world but need a step of preparation and direction in your path to finding and fulfilling your calling? Come to Barcelona!

What Are The Admissions Requirements For RKR Training?

Training seminars are open to anyone with their pastor’s permission to participate. Those wishing to come for two months or more must go through an application process.

  • Students from North America

    • You must be approved by the AIM program (www.aim2go.org). Please email RKR Admissions at info@rkrtraining.org before you decide to apply for AIM and start the process of coming to Barcelona. RKR staff will work closely with you and the Resource Team at UPCI Global Missions to facilitate the processing of your application.

  • Students from Europe

    • You must submit a completed RKR Student Application form, and your pastor or supervisor must complete an RKR Confidential Student Recommendation form. Both documents should be sent to info@rkrtraining.org. RKR staff will inform you whether your application has been accepted.

Who Are The RKR Instructors?

Instructors are approved by the Global Missions Director of Education/Short-Term Missions. The instructors are usually full-time missionaries, although some Associates, AIMers, Global Educators, Associated Ministers, and retro-Missionaries have helped with the teaching. Specialists may also be used to teach on reaching specific cultures. The Lord has been faithful in sending many excellent teachers our way.

What Is The Financial Investment For Missions Training In Barcelona?

The budget for coming to Barcelona is tailored to each applicant. The budget estimates listed below include required medical insurance, airfare, food, housing, local transportation, miscellaneous expenses, extra travel to a conference, visa expenses (if staying beyond 90 days), and a 10% Global Missions administrative fee for funds sent through Global Missions. There are areas in each budget where hundreds or thousands of dollars can be saved, but we encourage applicants to be fully funded. We would rather you have financial flexibility for unforeseen ministry opportunities and the possibility of extending your stay rather than not enough.
